How to change the TOC header from CHAPTER to APPENDIX

Hi Everyone,

I am trouble with the header of the Table of Contents. The way it is defined in the style file.

\newcommand{\cftlabel}{CHAPTER}

......

\doublespace
\pagestyle{fancyplain}
\afterpage{\lhead{\cftlabel}\rhead{Page}}

This uses the header 'CHAPTER' for the entire TOC.

But the gradformat keeps asking "Remove 'CHAPTER' header from page vi or change to 'APPENDIX'".

Any idea how to do this.
