Hi folks,

If you, your colleagues, or your students will be at AAS 245, come join us on Sunday, January 12, 2015 at 9 am for this winter's astropy workshop: Python and Astropy for Astronomical Data Analysis.

This workshop will cover the use of python tools for astronomical data analysis and visualization, with the focus primarily on tools in the astropy library and its affiliated packages. The goal is to introduce participants to the variety of tools which are available inside the astropy library, and to provide time for participants to explore the science analysis capabilities which the scientific Python ecosystem and community provide.

Some familiarity with python and numpy will be helpful but is not required.
The workshop materials will be presented from Jupyter notebooks.

We look forward to seeing you (and your team!) there!
