Proposed affiliated package: PetroFit

Hi all,

My name is Robel Geda and I am writing today to propose the PetroFit package for Astropy affiliation. It was developed by Dr. Steven Crawford, myself and collaborators during a research project studying crowded fields (galaxies in particular). We decided to generalize the code and make it available after realizing it would be helpful to the Astro community. Please see the link to our PR and a description of the code below:

Description:

PetroFit is a Python package designed for calculating Petrosian properties, such as radii and concentration indices, as well as fitting galaxy light profiles. In particular, PetroFit includes tools for performing accurate photometry, segmentations, Petrosian profiling, and Sérsic fitting. PetroFit is based on PhotUtils and AstroPy.
