Hi All,
The ADASS 2023 conference held here in Tucson was so successful we made a profit, a profit which must now be spent. As such, ADASS is partnering with the Catalina Sky Survey, LPL, Steward and Rubin
to hold a 4.5-day workshop immediately following the Rubin Community Workshop (https://project.lsst.org/meetings/rubin2025/) from August 1st through 5th on the campus of the University of Arizona.

More details to come, but we wanted to make sure folks penciled this into their calendars. Visit the link for more details and updates.
The preliminary block schedule is:
- Friday (8/1) RCW ends at noon, MW starts after lunch
- Saturday (8/2) Tour of Catalina Sky Survey facilities and operations
- Sunday (8/3) Splinter meetings (CSS and others)
- Monday (8/4) Plenary Sessions, workshops
- Tuesday (8/5) Sessions and workshops
I'm writing to see if there might be any interest in organizing a splinter session or workshop to take advantage of this meeting to showcase one or more NOIRLab projects. We envision these splinter sessions to be an extended Birds-of-a-feather session or Tutorial, but could be working meetings for Dev teams as well. ADASS itself will be an international meeting for the next few years so this is also an opportunity for US developers to meet and present their work.
Some examples of why I'm writing you:
- DESI Team workshop
- ANTARES filter-writing workshop
- Python spectroscopy workshop / dev meeting
- Data Analysis with SPARCL (joint with Data Lab?)
- Gemini Proposal Preparation and/or Data Reduction with DRAGONS
We don't need a firm commitment today, we are just trying to gauge interest to ensure we have space. If you have questions or would like to discuss this further please let me know.
Thanks,
-Mike
