the following PR has been lingering for over a year now and I did what I could to review it as a generalist but I am not comfortable merging it without an explicit approval from more domain-expert maintainer(s). Meanwhile, it's been a fight against the stable bot just to keep it open. Could anyone help me getting this over the finish line please ? Thanks !
