Hello,

solve-field works now correctly to identify the stars in the picture. But I wonder, does it also determine the exact direction in which the picture was taken? That's what I ultimately need, and I can probably work it out myself, but if solve_field has done that already (or another astrometry tool can do it), I don't need to.

Hi,

What do you mean by "direction"?  solve-field can give you the RA,Dec coordinates (sky equatorial coordinates) of your image center.  If you are asking about your "local" pointing (altitude/azimuth), that requires your location and time, and a bit of math.

I've now found indeed the Ra&Dec as well as all the X and Y of all the stars in the picture in the output files ('rdls' and 'xyls', respectively). That is enough for me; I can work out the rest myself.
