Hi,

I've been trying to fit a fits binary table file (attached). This file works fine when uploaded to the nova.astrometry.net website. However, I'm unable to get it to work using solve-field. Here is the command line I am trying:-

> /usr/local/astrometry/bin/
solve-field --x-column X --y-column Y --no-plot lsc0m409-kb81-20141019-0050-t02-table.fits --ra 48.5168574 --dec 4.7571531 --radius 0.5 --overwrite --width 1568 --height 1056

Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?

Many thanks,
Martin

Hi,

You shouldn't have to specify '--x-column=X' and '--ycolumn=Y'; those are the defaults.

That command-line looks fine.  If you look on the nova.astrometry.net result page, click on the "Submission #####", and go down to the log file listing, what index does it say it solved with?  Do you have the equivalent one?

And I hope the --ra,--dec you're giving are actually within half a degree of the right answer ;)

cheers,

Hi,

Thank you for the quick reply.

You were correct. The catalogue directory I was using didn't contain the relevant index file. It does now and the above command works fine.

Sorry to bother you with something so obvious.
