Is it possible to get the list of extracted star positions from a failed astrometry job? The user interface does show the image with found stars, but I would like to get them (xy positions) to fix the distortion of the wide angle image so it would solve.

Hi,

If you replace the "extraction_image_full" part of the URL above with "axy_file", you should get a FITS binary table of the x,y positions.

For wide-field images like this, it often helps if you can crop out a middle part of the image that still contains ~20 stars, where the distortion isn't too bad.

cheers,
dustin

Thanks!  That did it.

Yes, I know and I am using a small subframe for the T CrB monitoring, but I am hoping to solve the whole image and use it for finding novae. Let's see if it will work out.
