Hi,

I have used nova.astrometry.net for some time in the past years, and I just came back to use it after a pause of ~ 1 year. Now I see that some small things have changed (new options), but also I can't seem to make astrometry on a fits file anymore ?

First, I tried with a .fits.gz file, and then I uncompressed it locally and I tried again with a .fits file. Here's the error I get (see joint image). I don't really know what this is about, so I'm not sure where to start to fix this.

Any help is welcome !

Thanks,
Jonathan

What does fitsverify say about your file?  Sometimes slightly invalid FITS files can cause failures.

Could you please post your image somewhere, or email it to support at astrometry.net ?

thanks,

Oh I'm so sorry, the answer already was in another post. My fits file just had bad header keywords !

The error message nova spits out is totally unhelpful, so that's a bug!, and we are supposed to be a little robust to slightly invalid FITS images, but I think some component recently got more fussy and started dying like this.  I haven't had time to dig into what is going on.
