Hi all,

Astrometry.net does an excellent job of excluding artifacts from my images. Can you point me to the source extractor parameter file, so that I can adapt it for another purpose?

Many thanks,
Carrie

That's kind of funny, imo.

We create a .CONV file containing:

CONV NORM
# 5x5 convolution mask of a gaussian PSF with FWHM = 2.0 pixels.
0.006319 0.040599 0.075183 0.040599 0.006319
0.040599 0.260856 0.483068 0.260856 0.040599
0.075183 0.483068 0.894573 0.483068 0.075183
0.040599 0.260856 0.483068 0.260856 0.040599
0.006319 0.040599 0.075183 0.040599 0.006319

and set "-FILTER_NAME thatfile.conv" when running source-extractor

Other than that, we also create a parameter file, with

X_IMAGE
Y_IMAGE
MAG_AUTO
FLUX_AUTO

and everything else is just SE defaults.

cheers,
dustin
