Good Morning,

Question:  After uploading, and going to the success page the image defaults to Annotated...which I really like, but there are other options I can choose from such as SDSS.

What is SDSS ?  What am I looking at with this image ??

I am not an astronomer so the simpler the language the better, thank you for all that you do here, it's quite extraordinary !

SDSS = the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, a large survey that took a sensitive image of the sky starting ~year 2000.

So it's the same region of sky as your image(*), but as observed by the SDSS.
(*) there's a bug where it may be flipped vertically

cheers,
