I am trying to get a WCS calibration of an image of M33 taken years ago with the WIYN telescope.  I have tried several setups with no success: taking the defaults, limiting the search to 5 degrees around the object, using SExtractor, using FITS, JPEG, etc.  I am not familiar with the fitting messages but it LOOKS like it is doing a fit ok then it quits because of excessive CPU time (eg. the messages are "object 69 of 788: 2936935 quads tried, 1376507 matched.
object 70 of 788: 3111035 quads tried, 1454160 matched. Got a new best match: logodds 7.97883.," etc) . Any suggestions on what else might be tried?

Have you tried submitting it to the web service?  Could you please send a URL to that submission?  Without seeing the image it's a little tough to say much.

Timing out is one of the main failure modes, and can be caused by any number of problems.

Sorry for the time gap between now and my first question.

Yes, I submitted it to the web. The image resides on my computer. Can I email it to you?
