Sorry for the VERY late reply. I forgot that I had asked this question here. The issue does not arise when I compile and use the astrometry code on my machine. I believe this problem is exclusive to
nova.astrometry.net. Please find below the output of FITSVERIFY. The same 5 warnings are there for all the FITS images with me (2 are due to checksum, which is understandable). I find the keywords CREATOR, DATE & TELESCOP repeated. Is any of this causing
nova.astrometry.net to fail? Unfortunately, I cannot share the image since the data is not public yet.
