Today, around 6.30 pm, it was extraordinarily cloudless and the moon had not risen by then. The sky was really clear, and upon careful viewing, I could faintly make out the Milky Way band. It was the first time I had seen it with my naked eyes and it was a wish come true. This, after the rainbow in the evening today!
By the time I got back to my hall and got someone with a nice camera, the bright full moon had already risen. Some clouds had also gathered. Never before have I been saddened on seeing the full moon.
Anyway, we tried to click the galaxy with high exposure and got this.

Not very convincing, but the clouds on the side, which tend to hide the stars, can be distinguished from the galaxy glow, which is behind the stars.
The moon rise today was at 6.53 pm. It sets at 7 am tomorrow, so won't be able to view it again in the morning. But tomorrow evening, the moon sets at 7.36 pm. If it is cloudless again, maybe one can watch it then. :)
