Hello,

I was requested by a student to ask if I knew anyone who would be interested in speaking at their recently formed physics club. His email is forwarded below. This list seemed like the most appropriate place to send the request.

These would be engineering students who are enthusiastic about learning more about physics and astronomy. They may have had some intro classes in those subjects, but they don't have physics or astronomy majors. Probably if someone has a talk that's on the border between a sophisticated outreach talk and an undergraduate seminar, that would be about the right level.

If interested, the student organizer to contact is
Abduhla Ali: abduh...@cooper.edu

Regards,

Mike

Here's the promised email! But first, some context. A lot of the underclassmen are super interested in physics! I'd like them to continue their interests by hosting a speaker series at Cooper. I was wondering if any of your colleagues would be interested in giving talks. We'd prefer the following times: Tues. 12-1 or Tues. 1-2 or Thurs. 5-6, but if those times don't work, we can look for something else.

As far as the contents of the talk, so long as they talk about their research interests, I'd be content! I think this would be a good opportunity for graduate students and postdocs in particular, but I'd be thrilled if faculty could speak as well!

If you'd like more detail, please let me know!

Thanks as always!

A.
