Dear all, I hope that there are interested people in this group. Please
share and forward to anyone who can be interested. Apologies if you
receive this e-mail more than once.
Applications are invited for a 3 year full postdoctoral position at the
University of Potsdam (Germany) starting from 1 August 2026.
The project is devoted to high-mass X-ray binaries and massive star
populations in metal poor galaxies, and is focused on spectroscopic
analyses of observations obtained with the space telescopes XMM-Newton,
HST, and JWST. Previous experience with X-ray and JWST data, massive star
spectroscopy, population synthesis, and photoionization codes is a plus
but not required. The position offers the possibility for further academic
qualification, such as habilitation. The massive-star group in the
University of Potsdam provides a diverse and internationally visible
research environment, combining observations, modeling, and theory.
Potsdam is a lovely suburb of the German capital Berlin (within easily
commuting distance) and an UNESCO heritage site.
The application package should include a brief CV, a cover letter, and the
name of at least two researchers who could provide a reference letter upon
request. Please inquire about more details

There is no fixed application deadline. Applications will be evaluated as
they are received, and the position will be filled once a suitable
candidate is found. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply as soon
as possible.
