Job Description:
The ideal candidate will draw upon exemplary analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills, deep software development experience, and a passion for creating maintainable, highly reliable, distributed systems which operate 24/7/365. Successful members of this team collaborate effectively with internal end-users, aggressive cross-functional software development teams, and technical support/sustaining engineering teams to solve problems, implement new financial reporting solutions, and deliver successfully against high operational standards of system availability and reliability. We look for engineers who are excellent communicators, self-motivated, flexible, hardworking, and who like to have fun.
Basic Qualifications:
BS degree in Computer Science or related field, and 4+ years of industry experience developing large scale distributed software systems*
Solid proficiency with an OO language (Java or C++) and design patterns*
Experience with a scripting language -Perl, Ruby, Shell scripting*
Experience with RDBMS scaling challenges, dimensional data modeling, SQL*
Note: * Mandatory.
Preferred Skills:
Experience building web services -WSDL, SOAP, and REST
Experience handling large data volumes (Terabytes of data)
Experience web-based UI -Ruby, JSP, HTML, CSS, Java script.
Good code-documentation skills
Ability to work and communicate effectively with Business users
