You can build the module yourself against asterisk 20.

It's possible using bcg729 library.

First clone BelledonneCommunications bcg729 repo. Build and install bcg729. You can also use rpm package from Fedora if you use RHEL-like system and rebuild it for your RHEL-like OS.

Then you build asterisk-g729 with bcg729 (/configure --with-bcg729). There could be some problems with paths to the sources and libraries but it depends on your build environment.

There are only following versions supported by configure:

--with-asterisk14 Build for Asterisk 1.4
--with-asterisk16 Build for Asterisk 1.6
--with-asterisk18 Build for Asterisk 1.8
--with-asterisk100 Build for Asterisk 10, 11, 12
--with-asterisk130 Build for Asterisk 13
--with-asterisk140 Build for Asterisk 14
--with-asterisk150 Build for Asterisk 15
--with-asterisk160 Build for Asterisk 16 (the default)

How can I add asterisk 20 here?

Looks like asterisk 18 binaries codecs just works on 20.

Tried to load them today. Did not test on real calls though.
