Garba 2010
|
Come the nine nights, and we all sorely miss the magic of the music and chaniya cholis. Join in for a night’s celebration of the excitement and fervour of Navratri! We will feature an authentic folk music band, and food to follow!

Every year, every home in India lights a diya to celebrate the brilliance of prosperity and good fortune. Come join us in celebrating the biggest cultural fest of the year, when students come together and showcase their brilliance on the stage.

AIS Membership and Community |
Become a member of AIS! The membership fee for the year 2010-2011 is $15.
This fee supports our activities and allows you to enjoy all our events planned for the year, including Diwali, Garba, Ice-Cream Social, Holi, Treasure Hunt, Movie Night and others.
Membership fees are collected annually so those who were members last year would have to renew membership for the year 2010-2011.
Fill out the membership form online, or print out the attached form, and bring it along with your USC ID to the membership table at any of our events. (We accept only cash at the table)

Zero de Conduit (ZdC), the Critical Studies Graduate student organization for the USC School of Cinematic Arts and the Association of English Graduate Students are hosting the preeminent Indian cinema scholar Ravi Vasudevan. CRY Publicity Walk |
Wish to be involved with CRY (Child Rights and You, formerly Child Relief and You)? Join the 5K walk/run on Santa Monica Beach, on Saturday, October 9 2010 at 9 AM.
For more details and to register Event registration page CRY is looking for participants and volunteers. They need around 10 volunteers to help with event registration, filming the event, distributing goodie bags, etc. Refreshments will be provided.

WASC Accreditation Process |
USC is undergoing the reaccreditation process with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) on October 11-13, 2010. International students are encouraged by USC to give feedback to the WASC committee on strengths and weaknesses of USC with regard to academics and what student services are provided. This feedback is reviewed by the committee and recommendations are made to USC for improvement.

A fun-filled party, with rocking music, a sizzling dance floor and delicious food, organized specially for the freshers of Fall 2010.
On Saturday, September 18, 2010, two hundred and fifty people enjoyed a beautiful evening at the Ground Zero Performance Café, peppered liberally with music, dance and conversation, and topped up with a delightful dinner. |

Kayaks on the Water |
Kayaking is a safe and fun activity that requires no prior experience, and is great whether you choose to go alone, or with a partner. Apart from fun, it’s really good exercise too!
September 25, 2010 saw over fifty people with a sense of adventure march up together to go kayaking in the placid waters of the harbor at Long Beach, followed by swimming and strolling on the beach. |
