Congrats to the Spring 2010 Graduates! We hope AIS made this spring semester an enjoyable one for you. We wish you all a happy and productive summer.
First off, we welcome the new President of AIS, Shiven Gandhi, while bidding farewell and good weather to the outgoing President, Kailash Gajara. Kailash led a very successful and capable team last year, and under the leadership of Shiven, the team will aim to continue bringing you the exciting events that are the hallmark of AIS. Here’s looking forward to a fun-filled summer session!
It is once again that time of the year to work together to welcome our new colleagues, coming in Fall 2010 to USC. Pitch in by volunteering to provide temporary accommodation to the new admits for a few days. Spring 2010 Milestones |

Movie Night and Republic Day Celebrations |
The movie “Swades” was aired, a day before the Republic Day of India (26th January 2010). About forty students enjoyed the movie at Leavey Auditorium. On Republic Day, the Indian flag was hoisted, followed by recitation of the Indian National Anthem, serving to promote and nurture the patriotic feelings of Indians living away from home. |

Holi |
March brought the festival of Holi, which was hosted by AIS and HSO (Hindu Students Organization) for the students of USC, and celebrated on Huntington Beach with colours and music by nearly two hundred students with great gusto. |

Treasure Hunt |
The treasure hunt in April marked the last but most eagerly awaited of all AIS events for the spring semester. Fifteen teams of students competed solving clues scattered all over the campus, of which three winning teams carried away cash prizes worth $350 in total. |
