So you’ve come to USC. Now what?

The new semester is just a week away, and we still have one last Sunday meet for new students.

This is an informal discussion session with senior students and the AIS team, where you can ask questions regarding courses, jobs, safety, university procedures, life as a student, and other relevant topics.

Dates: August 15, 2010

Venue: Outside Leavey Library

Time: 6 PM to 8 PM

This is the last Sunday meet for this semester, so please do come over and be part of it! Also, do spread news of this event to other new students who may not know of it.

AIS Orientation

It’s one week before classes start! This is the week of orientations, to know about this wonderful new country you’ve come to, and to learn the ropes.

AIS presents an orientation specially tailored for common concerns we’ve heard from students, regarding academic expectations, safety, and university procedures. We will feature presentations by University Faculty, Officers from LAPD and DPS, and Advisors from MAPP and OIS.

Date: Monday, August 16, 2010

Venue: Taper Hall

Time:  5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

This is a formal orientation session, conducted by AIS, and the presentations would be followed by a Q&A session open to the Audience.

Membership collection for the 2010-2011 Academic year would begin after this event.

Fun Fair with Ice-Cream

Ice Cream 2.jpg

July 18, 2010 saw a new kind of event organized by AIS, the Fun Fair with Ice Cream. This was a resounding success, with more than a hundred people turning up.

Over three hours that evening, people enjoyed ice-cream and cookies, alongside the thrill of games like 7UP7DOWN, BlackJack, and Bollywood Masala, reliving the joy of melas back home. Seeing the buzz generated this time, we plan to bring it back in Fall. Feel free to write back to in...@usc.edu with your suggestions.

By a delightful coincidence, July 18 was National Ice-Cream Day :)

The Association of Indian Students welcomes any student who would like to help us out in our events as Senators or volunteers. So if you feel you have that aspiring spirit, come join us and feel the difference!!!
