Best Friends Animal Society is seeking a Benefits Specialist to administer all health and welfare benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance as well as Best Friend’s 401(k) savings plan. Provide recommendations and information to management and employees regarding benefit options and applications. Participate in development of cost effective benefit plans and work with various account representatives to resolve claim and administrative issues. Assure compliance with all laws and regulations including FMLA, ERISA, OSHA, & COBRA and Health Care Reform. Maintain reporting compliance. Work with external auditors to support the benefits and 401(k) audits. Responsible for completion of the annual 5500.
