New Tutoring Plan

Hey everyone

Trust that you are all doing amazingly well and that the 3rd block has been great!

Firstly, let me start by extending a heartfelt THANK YOU to each and everyone of you who helo in building The ASSIST week in and week out through the enthusiasm and commitment you have shown. We do it because YOU do. Really :)

Anyway, mine is just to fill you in on what is happening regarding a tutoring plan we have  began implementing as of today. Basically, as you might have gathered, behavior and attendance have been somewhat of an issue and we're hoping this new plan will change things:)

Basically, the idea is to encourage positive peer pressure by grouping learners into permanent working groups which will compete for the maximum number of points (awarded by you, the tutor). We're hoping that some healthy competition will encourage attendance and improve behavior as well as promote great work ethic.

The ideal situation would be to have the same tutors working with the same groups every week.

Anyway, this email is getting a tad long; I have attached a basic explanation of the model but your relevant director will explain this further on the ride to Pholosho.

Hello Linda

You may definitely attend tomorrow. We leave at exactly 3h15 so please be at the bus stop by 3h10pm. We will be ending at 5h30 from now on due to safety issues our learners raised from recent events in Alex.

We're doing baseline assesments with them in the first hour, and then homework or english in the second session.
