As you have likely heard, the Governor is trying tomorrow to railroad a sweetheart tax deal for Nike through a special session of the Oregon legislature.  

The Governor's proposal would allow him to bypass the legislature and the voters and cut a deal with Nike--a deal aimed at locking in for up to 40 years a gaping loophole in the current tax code that benfits their corporation. [1]

The Oregon WFP is launching an aggressive pushback campaign and we need your help.  Working together with MoveOn.org, we are launching a SignOn.org petition calling on the Governor and the Legislature to put on the brakes and think about the true impact of this hastily conceived deal.

Help us spread this petition around the state before the legislature meets tomorrow to discuss the Nike deal.

The problems with this deal are numerous. [2]  Most importantly what kind of precendent does it set when the Governor will convene a special session of the legislature to consider a deal for one major corporation while so many other critical issues go un-addressed?  

If Oregon citizens know about this deal they will be shocked and appalled like I am sure so many of you were.  This is why we need your help TODAY to share this petition.
