FW: Friends of Rich Harisay: Changes to Phone Banking schedule

There are a couple changes to Rich’s phone banking schedule to make it easier for volunteers to fit in calling time and get Rich in front of his constituents more often as we are now down to the final month.
1. All Sundays will begin at 11 am instead of 10 am
2. Since most of you are experienced campaigners you may choose to phone bank from home. You will need unlimited calling minutes, a list of names to call and simple script. In this case you choose the best hours for your own schedule. These lists and script can be picked up from the Dems office listed below. If Rich isn’t there, his office is the first door on the left past the reception. There is a clip board on top of his yellow file cabinet, take 8 to 12 pages of names and a script from the bottom of the pile. It works great, I am phone banking from home. I can answer any questions at 503-569-3662. If you want to use the office to phone bank there is always a booth free, go to it.
3. If you can recommend anyone who might like to help Rich beat his ALEC incumbent rival please let Rich or me know.

Hello Supporters of Rich Harisay & foes of ALEC:
Here is Rich’s schedule for phone banking. We REALLY need volunteers for a couple or three hours here and there as best suits your schedule. Only Rich and one other candidate in Oregon are running specifically against ALEC when a swing of two seats to ALEC in the assembly gives ALEC a majority. We can’t live with that, we will not start down the path of Wisconsin and Michigan. Rich also supports Move TO Amend and Occupy, all three are in his literature. Therefore, if you can spare some time from other campaigns you are working on please sign up for a shift.
It’s easy work, even after hundreds of calls I have only had one where the person was belligerent, the rest are usually very polite; we read from a short script and many calls are left on voice mail. So come help Rich replace the ALEC loving incumbent in the 17th district with a man who actively supports the groups we ourselves work with! Even if you aren’t in the 17th your actions will, further the values we have all worked so hard for.

We working at the Marion County Democratic HQ -- 250 Liberty Street SE, just south of State St., -- Salem, OR., Rich is there during these hours and difficult questions can be handed over to Rich directly.
There is a very simple script to follow and no need to debate or get into the fine points, Rich will take those calls.

Rich also has some striking Anti-ALEC lawn signs that don’t mention his candidacy, so you can pick one up for your own yard when you come for phone banking if you like.
