This is good news to those who intend to take the SOA exams and eventually qualify as an actuary.  We have got the VEE recognition by SOA.  Hope this will encourage more people to take the SOA exams.  Remember, graduates from overseas and many local universities are already having two or three exams by the time they apply for work in actuarial science departments.

 

Even if you do not intend to become an actuary in the end, it is good to have extra qualification.  Islamic traditions require you to continue learning and acquiring knowledge until the lahad.

FYI, Society of Actuary (SOA) has approved our application for Validational by Educational Experience (VEE) for all three topics (Applied Statistical Methods, Corporate Finance, and Economics).

 

Attached is the list of courses evaluated and approved for VEE credits.  Students and/or lecturers can apply for VEE credits once they have passed 2 preliminary exams, and obtained at least a B- for each courses submitted for VEE credit.

 

You may go to  http://www.soa.org/education/exam-req/edu-vee.aspx for more information on VEE credits (since SOA updates the information regularly especially changes in the fees).
