We have three events coming up.

The first is a repeat live event as the first time around earlier this month it was overbooked. If you missed it the first time or you have time to see it this time - join us. The second is a three part short course on FMEAs, and then our regular English series on the 2nd Thursday this time on Weibull Analysis.

Topic1: ASQ Reliability Division Webinar Series – English

Root Cause Analysis: Common Problems and Solutions

PRESENTER: Duke Okes

DATE: Friday, Aug 31, 2012, Noon - 1:00 pm EDT

DESCRIPTION: The process of diagnosing product problems identified during design, manufacture or use brings many challenges.  The presentation will discuss ways to alleviate these difficulties using a structured, troubleshooting-based approach, and being aware of some common errors and ways of dealing with them. Learning Objectives:

·         How to analyze data for low frequency failures

·         Using the information from RCA for improving both prevention and detection

·         Understand why finding a product solution often isn’t enough

Topic 2: ASQ Reliability Division Short Course

Achieving Effective FMEAs 3 part series

PRESENTER: Carl S. Carlson

DATE: September 5, 6, 7 2012 09:00 US Pacific Coast Time

DESCRIPTION: We all want to support the accomplishment of safe and trouble-free products and processes. Failure Mode and Effects Analysis has the potential to be a powerful reliability tool to reduce product design and manufacturing risk in a cost effective manner. With shorter product development times, tighter budgets and intense global competition, Design for Reliability tools such as FMEA must be applied correctly. Yet in practice, FMEA does not always achieve the expected results. Why is it that some companies have outstanding success in their FMEA application and others do not? What is the difference between well done and poorly done FMEAs? What are the essential elements of an effective FMEA process? These questions and more are answered in these three new short courses on FMEA.

·         Part 1 The 10 most common FMEA mistakes and what to do about them

·         Part 2 How to audit FMEAs using quality objectives

·         Part 3 Implementing a successful FMEA process in your company

Topic 3: ASQ Reliability Division Webinar Series – English

We just had a failure, Will Weibull Analysis Help?

PRESENTER: Jim Breneman

DATE: September 13, 2012 09:00 US Pacific Coast Time

DESCRIPTION: You’ve heard about Weibull Analysis, and want to know what it can be used for, OR you’ve used Weibull Analysis in the past, but have forgotten some of the background and uses….This webinar looks at giving you the background of Weibull Analysis, and its use in analyzing failure modes. Starting from basics and giving examples of its uses in answering the questions:

·         How many do I test, for how long?

·         Is our design system wrong?

·         How many more failures will I have in the next month, year, 5 years?
