Hi all,
First of all, thanks for your excellent work ! Sounds really amazing.
I would like to install aproject on my mac, but I need some help of
the installation. I need to install ruby, but don'tI don't find a good
documentation on how to proceed. (I was looking for a dmg which does
not exist?)

Other question, I 've seen you are using mate. Sounds like a great
editor (I'm using Eclipse for n,ow). Is there a way to create some
tasks to create automatically the build? insead of the command line
too

thanks for your help and sorry for the very basic questions.

Well I finally did install Ruby.
I followed these instructions : http://hivelogic.com/narrative/articles/ruby-rails-mongrel-mysql-osx
I also had to use iTerm ( a personnal choice) rather than the
Terminal.

I'm going to do as asproject installation now, be back with new
questions soon ;)

Hey Thomas,

Thanks for the question - actually, I also use Eclipse for
ActionScript work. TextMate is a great text editor though, and it's
very extensible and easily modified, so after a couple of hours, I was
able to get the Ruby Rake task added to the ActionScript editing
profile. They call extensions, "Bundles" and you can read more about
them here:

http://macromates.com/textmate/manual/bundles#bundles

As far as automating the build tasks with Eclipse, I put some
instructions here:

http://www.asserttrue.com/articles/2007/03/13/running-rake-from-eclipse

Welcome to the list! Please be sure to file bugs as you find them.

Thanks,

Hi there,

I'm the official mantainer of the ActionScript bundle in TextMate.

It would be really nice if you could share your modifications so I can
include them on the next release.

I'm playing with AsProject and it seems like a killer tool, so it
would be *great* to have some integration included on TextMate.

Thanks in advance :)

Hey Ale,

It's *great* to hear from you!

I haven't integrated any of the TextMate stuff that I did in the project. I actually integrated a few months ago with much earlier code that has since gone out of date.

Essentially, what I did do, was copy the Rake support out of the Ruby bundle and renamed a few things so that it would work with the ActionScript bundle. I'm not convinced that what I did was really the right thing to do, and I don't have that code with me this minute (I can get it to you tonight if you think it would be helpful).

Other than that, I'm elated to hear that you're interested in the project and would like to do whatever I can to help you out with TextMate integration! Just let me know.

Thanks,

Luke Bayes
