Copy and Paste Behaviour

We are using spell as you type on html inputs on a webform.
Browser = IE8
ASPNetSpell version = 4.0.3.24577
We found that if we copy and paste text from a spell checked field it contains other characters.
So when data in one of the spell checked fields is copied and pasted into a text editor like notepad++ we see "?FeildTest".
If data in one of the spell checked fields is copied and pasted into another spell checked field it appears to paste the entire control into the input control!!
Is there a way to stop this behaviour?
