All,

I've been reading Eric Raymond's The Cathedral and the Bazaar, and this passage jumped out at me:

"In the closed-source world, Version 1.0 means: 'Don't touch this if you're prudent.' In the open-source world, it reads something more like: 'The developers are willing to bet their reputations on this'" [95].

I want Aspen 1.0 to be something we're all willing to bet our reputations on. I don't want to rush it. We made great strides in our push this Spring. We need to do that a few more times before I'm comfortable going to 1.0. The good news is that Aspen is still useful and valuable in its present state. We don't need to wait for 1.0 to use Aspen, but we also don't want to release a half-baked 1.0.

I'm withdrawing the deadline from the 1.0 milestone.
