We are in dire need of a volunteer to take over the chair position for
the PTA Reflections Art Program. We are in danger of not participating
in the program this year unless we can find someone to step up and
organize it for our school. The past few years we have had many
students participate (and win!), so letting our participation lapse
would be a real shame. If you (or someone you know) would like to help
us out, the kids of Aspen Creek will be grateful! Please see the job
description below:
The PTA Reflections chair oversees this arts education opportunity for
students K-8. Students submit original pieces of work centered around
this year's theme "Together we can..." The work can be in any six
areas that include - visual arts, photography, literature, musical
composition, film production and dance choreography. Winners at the
school level in each category go on to compete at the district, then
state level. The chair's responsibilities include the following:
-Promoting the program to parents, students and teachers
-Distributing the rules, deadlines and entries forms
-Collecting and cataloging entries.
-Recruiting judges.
-Setting up the judging process and dates.
-Announcing and recognizing winners.
-Submitting entries to the next level.
-Keeping records of the program.
The chair for this position should be organized and outgoing. They
should enjoy the creative process in children. This program has a
commitment time of approximately 3 1/2 months. In September, you
would promote the program. October is for collection, cataloging, and
judging. This is the heaviest load of work. During November you will
display, announce and recognize winners and submit the entries to the
next level. Most of the work will be finished by December. The
following website explains the program in more detail.
The chairperson guide is displayed on this site.
