Those who have been using the Windows operating system for years cannot deny the usefulness of the troubleshooters. They are built-in utilities that help us resolve issues with the operating system when other solutions fail to work.

Troubleshooters often diagnose and fix issues independently, but sometimes you have to intervene manually. So, carefully follow all the guidelines the troubleshooter gives you during the troubleshooting process.

We have shown you how to run troubleshooters in Windows 10 and 11. When you encounter an issue with the operating system, run the troubleshooter before trying any other fix; it may resolve the problem right away.

I connected my Bluetooth speaker to my laptop as I usually do when on vacation to watch some YouTube videos, the problem is that there is always a very noticeable delay between the sound and the video. To fix this I used to run the Bluetooth troubleshooter and it would reset the radio or something along those lines and it would fix the problem. Now when I tried to do that exact thing, instead of it running the troubleshooter, it opens a window that connects to an online page that tries to run diagnostics on your device.

Essentially they made it a troubelshooter that doesn't run on your device locally but somewhere on Microsoft's servers. Not only did this troubleshooter not fix my problem, it was not even able to detect any issues. And this also means that when you do not have access to the internet you cannot use the troubleshooter! It will simply give you an error and suggest different ways to fix your problem of "having no internet access". This is ridiculous. Why did they decide to do this? I shouldn't need an internet connection to run a basic troubleshooter.

Fixing a Windows 10 issue such as disabled background apps can feel like a daunting challenge, but the troubleshooting process does not have to be difficult because Windows offers unique troubleshooters.

These troubleshooters can automate the process of resolving many common issues in Windows 10. They are easy to use, and as a Windows 10 administrator you can simply select the troubleshooter that best matches the problem you are having. From there, Windows 10 will do the rest.

The first option on this screen asks if you want to be notified before Windows runs a troubleshooter. By default, if a problem occurs and a troubleshooter could help, Windows will ask if you want to run a troubleshooter. However, you can also configure this option to run a troubleshooter automatically -- with or without notifying you -- or to disable troubleshooting altogether.

This screen provides access to the individual troubleshooters. However, not all Windows 10 issues can be resolved with these native troubleshooters. Still, there are other simple fixes you can try for many of these problems.

If you are having trouble with background apps, running the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter can be an easy fix. This troubleshooter will check for missing and corrupt files, as well as other issues associated with Windows Store apps.

If the troubleshooter cannot resolve the issue and you continue to have problems with disabling or disabled background apps, go to Settings and click Privacy. Next, click the Background Apps tab. This tab includes an option to allow apps to run in the background. There is also a separate "run in the background" option for each individual app.

When the troubleshooter begins, it will display a list of the network adapters that are present in your PC. Select the wireless network adapter and click Next. Windows will perform a series of diagnostic tests to determine why network connectivity is not working properly.

The troubleshooter may report that the device does not have Bluetooth in some cases. This is especially true if Bluetooth is disabled within the computer's BIOS, or if you are using an external Bluetooth adapter. In these situations, make sure that Bluetooth is enabled -- if it is integrated into the computer's system board -- and that any required device drivers are installed.

If you are unable to boot your computer into safe mode, you might start the troubleshooting process by running the Windows Update Troubleshooter. If this troubleshooter fails to find any problems, enter the MSConfig command at the computer's Run prompt. This will launch the System Configuration tool. Select the tool's Boot tab and make sure that the safe mode checkbox is selected and click OK.

Disabling MSDT URL protocol prevents troubleshooters being launched as links including links throughout the operating system. Troubleshooters can still be accessed using the Get Help application and in system settings as other or additional troubleshooters. Follow these steps to disable:

I replaced the toner on my printer with a third-party cartridge a while ago, and ever since then whenever I try to print something windows will give me an error saying "your printer needs your attention". I've discovered that after running the windows troubleshooter for the printer any job in the queue will print. (The troubleshooter won't find any errors, but by running it the jobs will print.)

Windows 11/10 offers some new settings in the Settings app. This Settings app comes with a new option called Troubleshoot, which has some one-click solutions to fix various problems related to your computer. Previously, one could access them via the Control Panel or download them from the Microsoft website. However, Microsoft is now providing quite the same functionality within the Windows Settings app. So let us see how to access and use the Troubleshooters page in Windows 11/10 Settings to solve any problem.UPDATE: Microsoft will gradually deprecate the MSDT-based Windows Troubleshooters. You will then have to use the new Get Help app based Troubleshooters.Run Troubleshooters in Windows 11 to resolve problemsWindows 11 is quite a change over its predecessor. The focus was on analyzing the more commonly used settings in the operating system and making their access easier. Clearly, Microsoft understood the appeal of the built-in troubleshooters and changed their position in the Settings menu. The procedure to Run the in-built troubleshooters in Windows 11 is as follows:Right-click on the Start button and select Settings. This will open the Settings menu.
