Hi Everyone!
Today I am pleased to release the details for our Fall Winery Tour. If
you are at all interested in microbiology, you are surely aware how
vital microbes are to the creation of wines and beers of every kind.
This semester we will be traveling to Pearmund Cellars (
pearmundcellars.com) to tour
their facility and learn what really goes into making a bottle of
wine. All those who went last semester will tell you what a fantastic
time they had. Here are the specifics:
What: ASM Winery Tour - Pearmund Cellars
When: Friday, October 3rd
What time: 12:00PM (to approximately 3:00PM) - you might want to
get some lunch beforehand
Where: Meet at the temporary parking in front of the George
Mason statue
If you want to go, PLEASE let us know so we have an idea of how
many are coming. This can be done by emailing
jrog...@gmu.edu
with "ASM Winery Tour" in the subject line. Let us know if you want to
drive as we will be carpooling.
Note: Remember, you need to be 21 in order to drink or purchase
any wine, but everyone is certainly welcome to come along. There is a
whole lot to see and learn.
Thanks,
Jimmy Rogers

Microbiology (GMU Chapter)
