Background:

Dear Colleagues:  The University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Mechanical Engineering is pleased to announce that we will continue with organization and serve as host of the Fifteenth Annual Early Career Technical Conference on November 7-8, 2015 in Birmingham, Alabama.  The Entergy Corporation as well as several of our long-standing academic and corporate partners have agreed to continue sponsoring this event.  This very successful conference series began in 2002 and has grown in size and scope over the years.  Last year’s conference included over 50 presentations.  The conference is open to everyone and presenters may choose any subject matter they have worked on or submitted as part of their academic or professional career.  As you may know, this is the only conference, that we are aware of, that provides an honorarium to presenters while also providing a professional and academic setting.  Further details can be found on the conference website at http://www.uab.edu/engineering/home/departments-research/me/conferences/ectc2015

Attached is a flyer that can be used to advertise this event.  We look forward to your continued participation and support of this very successful conference series.

Thank you and best regards,

David L Littlefield
