Editor-in-Chief: ASME Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics (JMR)

Dear MR Community,

I am writing to invite expressions of interest for the role of Editor-in-Chief of the ASME Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics (JMR).

As many of you know, Prof. Venkat Krovi will complete his term as Editor-in-Chief at the end of this year. Over the past eight years, Venkat has led the journal with exceptional dedication and vision, significantly advancing its quality, visibility, and impact. On behalf of the ASME Mechanisms and Robotics (MR) Committee, I would like to express our sincere appreciation for his outstanding service to the community.

The search is now underway for the next Editor-in-Chief. The new term will officially begin in January 2026, with onboarding to start in Fall 2025 to support a smooth transition. This is a five-year appointment, with the possibility of a one-time extension of up to three years.

As JMR is technically sponsored by the MR Committee, we are playing an active role in identifying strong candidates for this important position. In my capacity as Committee Chair, I encourage interested colleagues to contact me directly no later than 15 June 2025, copying Prof. Venkat Krovi (vkr...@clemson.edu).

We welcome interest from both academic and industry colleagues with research experience aligned with the Mechanisms and Robotics areas of the ASME Design Engineering Technical Division. Prior experience as an Associate Editor is desirable.
