The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Penn State University is hiring a tenure-line faculty member in the area of batteries and energy storage, including battery materials, chemical kinetics, and systems for electrochemical energy storage. There are broad opportunities for research collaboration at Penn State, including the Battery & Energy Storage Technology Center (https://best.psu.edu/), the Institute for Energy & Environment (https://iee.psu.edu/home), and the Materials Research Institute (https://www.mri.psu.edu/). This position is co-funded by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Institute for Energy & Environment.
