Dear K-16 Committee Members,

---------

We look forward to seeing you at the 2024 Summer Heat Transfer Conference at the Hilton Anaheim, Anaheim, California July 15-17, 2024.  Relevant abstract submission deadlines are fast approaching, as listed on the 2024 SHTC website SHTC 2024 | Summer Heat Transfer Conference (asme.org)

We are pleased to announce that a Symposium in Memory of Prof. Richard J. Goldstein will be held at 2024 SHTC.  In honor of Prof. Goldstein’s broad contributions to heat transfer and thermal science, the Symposium will encompass all areas in current and past heat transfer research.  The Symposium is being organized by Terrence Simon, Vinod Srinavasan, and Xiaojia Wang (University of Minnesota), Sangjo Han (Seoul National University of Science and Technology), Kaustubh Kulkarni (ExxonMobil), and Umesh Madanan (Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur).  The Symposium will consist of both invited and contributed presentations.  Full Paper and Presentation Only submissions in all areas of heat transfer are encouraged.

To encourage student participation in the conference, the Heat Transfer Division will again subsidize student registration, reducing the student registration fee to $90.  To be eligible for the discount students must i) be full-time undergraduate or graduate students (post-doctoral fellows do not qualify), ii) be a student member of ASME, and iii) attend the conference.  Besides participation in the technical sessions, additional student activities are being planned.  Students seeking assistance through this program must complete the application on the 2024 SHTC website.

Note that for each Technical Publication and Technical Presentation, a minimum of one author must be registered at the Full Conference Author rate.  One author registration fee can cover up to a maximum of two (2) Technical Publication or Presentation Only submissions.  The student registration does not count towards meeting the registration requirement for final paper submission of the event.  Final papers and one paid registration at the full author rate for one author of the paper is still due by the deadline.
