Is it necessary to provide the ASME ID card (which one gets after becoming a registered ASME student member) during the competeition?

Bring proof of membership to the event.

If you don't have a membership card then you can print your membership certificate from the ASME website.

To print your certificate:

1) Log into the ASME website here: https://community.asme.org/login.aspx

2) After you log in visit this site: https://community.asme.org/user/membershipandbenefits.aspx

3) Click the "Download Certificate" link on the right side of the page

If this doesn't work then you can print the membership and benefits website that shows your member number
