Meeting Notice - ASME Gas Turbine Technical Chapter
The Houston area ASME-International Gas Turbine Technical Chapter is dedicated to the design, manufacture, operation, maintenance and business of gas turbine based technologies. Every individual and organization with an interest in this technology is encouraged to participate (ASME membership is not required, but encouraged). Meetings are generally from 6 PM to 9 PM. We welcome everyone. Come as you are, we are a NOMEX/FRC friendly organization!

Speaker's Biography:
Dr. Koul obtained his B.Sc in Metallurgical Engineering in 1973 from IIT, BHU in India and Ph. D in Metallurgy from Sheffield, UK in 1978. He worked as a Steel Specialist for British Steel Corporation for over two years prior to joining Institute for Aerospace Research of the National Research Council for Canada in 1980 where he was the Group Leader for Gas Turbines Materials and Structures. He spun off a company from NRC in 2000 based on the work conducted on military and land based gas turbine engines.
Dr. Koul is the President and CEO of Life Prediction Technologies Inc. and the architect of patented XactLIFETM prognostics (predictive maintenance) framework for gas/steam turbine applications. The system was recently selected to receive the 2018 ASM Canada Council Innovation Award for the “Development and Demonstration of a Material Physics Based Digital Twin and a Predictive Maintenance System for Gas Turbines.”

- Drive BW8 South to the FM 521 exits 2 miles west of SH288 and exit to FM 521 North
- Take FM 521 North approximately 1 mile to West Fuqua St. and turn Right on Fuqua
- Proceed approximately 500 feet to Almeda School Road and turn Right
- Proceed approximately 200 feet to the ASM shop on the right
- Proceed to the parking lot – should be signs posted
Coming from SH288:
- Take SH288 to West Fuqua St. approximately 1 mile north of BW8 and turn west on Fuqua

PLEASE NOTE: There is a lot of construction and traffic in this area so remain flexible and vigilant as traffic may change based on construction activities!!
