2018 – 2019 ASME Gas Turbine Meeting Notice – basic information below, but see attached meeting notice for more detail.

Meeting Notice - ASME Gas Turbine Technical Chapter

The Houston area ASME-International Gas Turbine Technical Chapter is dedicated to the design, manufacture, operation, maintenance and business of gas turbine based technologies.  Every individual and organization with an interest in this technology is encouraged to participate (ASME membership is not required, but encouraged).  Meetings are generally from 6 PM to 9 PM.  We welcome everyone.  Come as you are, we are a NOMEX/FRC friendly organization!

Meeting Summary:

Lorin Shirdon will present the basics for a 7FA Cogeneration Project including, EPC Engineering, Turbomachinery Equipment Requirements, Assembly, and Installation. The presentation will contain information on the machinery and site, but will also extend to other plant auxiliaries, including unit assemblies.

Speaker's Biography:

Lorin Shirdon is currently a turbine and compressor planning / training engineer for MCO-1 Mitsubishi Compressor, he spent 6 years as a Gas turbine Technician (E-6) in the US Navy with LM2500’s, numerous years at GE in 7FA/EA Customer engineering, and many years at Duke Energy/ Fluor in EPC Project Engineering. One of his career highlights was a 3 year Cogeneration project in SE Houston (South Houston Green Power). Lorin also developed solutions with HP Steam turbines and boilers up to 2400 psig. He has been in the Energy/Power sector since 1984.

Lorin and his wife celebrate 25 years of marriage with three young adults, Ages 23, 20 and 19, all in local universities. He graduated from Wright State University, near Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton Ohio.
