Just an informational notice if you are interested in attending the annual planning meeting for the GTTC.  This is not a technical meeting, only a business meeting to review the last year and plan for the September 2019 – May 2020 program year which is usually the 5 technical meetings and the associated planning and policies to support them.

Meeting is:

6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, 26 Aug 19
La Madeline’s, 10001, Westheimer Rd, #2123, Houston, 77042 (
lamedeline.com)

Small place and each person has the option of buying something from the restaurant.

Agenda:

-        Intro

-        Previous Officers Comments – and Thanks for their Service!

-        New Officer Comments – and Thanks for their future Service

-        Financial Review/Status

-        Chapter Direction and Strategy – Review, Lessons Learned, Future Plans – Civic Service, Meeting Rates, Etc.

-        2018 – 2019 Program Planning:  Meetings - Oct 2019, Dec 2019, Jan 2020 (Joint with Apollo Sub Section), Mar 2020 (Officer Nominations), April 2020 (Officer Elections), June 2020 (Annual Board / Planning Meeting)

If you have not already advised, please let me know if you plan on attending or have any ideas on topics, speakers or locations for the year’s meetings.  The topics need to be related to gas turbines and their unique auxiliary systems or equipment, but the meeting locations could be unrelated spaces that can handle a group of 50’ish for evening meetings.  The hosts are not expected to pay for meals and I can work with most anyone on arrangements.  We also try and stay with locations not too far out and if so, in a fairly dense area of interest – Energy Corridor and La Porte are way out, but have high concentrations of interested people or technical content.

If anyone is interested in working on taking over the Programs position now or later or even helping coordinate a meeting, please let me know so I can start training/including you on the preparations in advance to make any transition easy (not hard, just lots of people, places and things that make the job easier…).  As a reminder, I am retiring from the GTTC completely in June 2021.
