Friday, Sept. 4, 11:30 am - 1:30 pm, BSU Silent Lunch at Bergquist Room, SUB, Boise State University. The first of Silent Lunches every Friday for the semester, watch calendar and Facebook for locations TBA. Come practice your signing or start learning to sign with others who are totally willing and able to help you. A great way for new signers to learn and gain skills. Hang out, drop in for as long as you want. Friday, Sept. 4, 7 - 9 pm (Pacific time), NIC Deaf Coffee Night at Hastings Paperback Cafe, 101 East Best Avenue, Coeur d'Alene, ID. Every Friday, come socialize with Deaf, students, and fellow lovers of Deaf culture and ASL! A casual environment and lots of fun! Saturday - Monday, Sept. 5 - 7, Deaf Youth Yard Sale at 913 Colorado Street, Gooding, ID. Friends and Community, President Alan Wilding of Idaho Association of the Deaf (IAD) received a sizeable donation this weekend. Literally 9 truckloads full of items from one place and a trailer/truck load of items from another.  Alan is having a HUGE sale during Labor weekend to benefit the youth program under the Idaho Association of the Deaf. Specifically, the money will be used to sponsor Jr. NAD and to add to the Youth Leadership Camp (YLC) scholarship fund. This is a GREAT cause!!!
It will be a lot of work setting everything up and so Alan is asking for volunteers to come on Friday, September 4th around 4 PM to help set up. Alan is willing to pick up some pizzas and root beer for everyone that comes to help. We will need help setting up and cleaning up (Friday and Monday). Please spread the word and please email wildi...@gmail.com if you're able to stop by and help, even if only for an hour. Those that come from Boise or Pocatello are welcome to stay at Alan's house or in his RV.

Friday, Sept. 11, 4 - 6 pm, ISU Interpreting Program Meet & Greet, Idaho State University Meridian Health Science Center, 1311 East Central Drive, Meridian, ID.  The ISU Interpreting program would like to introduce its incoming juniors to the Deaf community with a meet and greet potluck. This year we are pleased to welcome 11 new students into the program many of whom are from out of the Boise area. We would love to spend the evening sharing stories and food. We would also love for our new members to form connections to help them in finding a mentor this school year. Friday, Oct. 2, 6 - 9 pm - Idaho RID Workshops at Idaho School for the Deaf and Blind, 1450 Main St, Gooding, ID. Presenter Erin Tremble; she just finished her masters degree on interpreters working in rural areas and will report on her research.

Friday, Oct. 2, 6:30 - 9:30 pm, ASL Student/ Deaf Coffee Chat at Krispy Kreme Meridian, 1525 North Eagle Road, Meridian, ID. ITS TIME AGAIN!! It is a great way for ASL students to hang out with the Deaf community and improve their ASL skill.  Everyone is WELCOME!!
