Happy May Day!!

We are excited to share a new fundraising campaign on Idaho Gives Day, May 4th.  The Idaho Association of the Deaf (IAD) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works to improve the quality of life for Deaf people in the state of Idaho. We also advocate for equal access, Deaf education, & other issues. This year we were able to pass HB 46 for sign language interpreter licensure.  One of our major endeavors is to build a Deaf center of our very own. The goal of the Deaf center is to create a space where Deaf/HH people can go to for support, access, education, interaction, and edification. Creating a Deaf center would enable us to locate all services designed for the Deaf/HH population of Idaho in one central location.

On our Idaho Gives to IAD page you will find volunteer opportunities with Deaf Ambassadors of Idaho (DAI), Deaf Center Idaho, Cash4Shooz, and IAD Conference. On May 4th, we have a chance to win prizes for the first donation at midnight and Golden Ticket drawings throughout the day. Every dollar counts, the more people that donate (no matter how small the donation), the more chances we get prizes!! If you'd like a tax deductible receipt after you donate, please email trea...@idahodeaf.org. Thank you!

We will be hosting our 39th biennial conference this year in Post Falls, Idaho! The conference will be held August 4th- 6th, 2017. In addition to that, we are having a youth camp geared toward Deaf teenagers all over the state from July 23rd – 31st. Check the Deaf community calendar on www.idahodeaf.org under Events for updates with an abbreviation of cities at the beginning of event titles such as (Boi), (Merdn), (Nmpa), (TwinF), (CDA), (Blkft), etc.

Share and spread the word! May the 4th be with us to make Idaho a better place for the next Deaf generation and now!! Attached is a photo of me wearing our theme shirt designed by my husband Jerry, we are standing in front of Shoshone Falls, one of the most beautiful places in Idaho!

Thank you,
