For short time series, I would use S0_xx map (swS0_xxx for group level analysis). S0 means no scaling. S1 means subsampled by 2. Composite is the sum of S0, S1, and S2 etc. The reason for only using S0 for short time series is due to the stability issue when the time series is further shortened by subsampling (the so-called coarse graining).
