Each Dicom image is for one slice.  You should check how many images were really acquired in the scanner.  Dicom to nifti conversion has been quite reliable now, and should not lose anything.

I am a Ph.D. scholar in neuroscience from India using SPM12 for the processing of ASL images. While I convert my Dicom images [320 images] to nifti format I am getting only a single file with a single volume and when I use this .nii file for the realignment process I am not getting the translation and rotation graph (instead a blank window is appearing, even if I change the data set getting the same result) so that I am confused whether it is wrong or not. And I have seen in tutorials that while loading the data for the realignment process many files are been loaded ( when frame field is filled) and getting translation and rotation graphs. So I am totally confused as to how to proceed as I am completely new to this.

It will be really helpful if you can help me out with this so that I can proceed with my work. Hope to hear from you soon.
