A question on noema and onomon

I have raised the question on humanities.classics and with expertise in proto Indo European as to whether Greek noema and onomon (latin nomen) may be etymologically related; a decisive answer is pending. Clearly there is a conceptual relatedness as a name is often that by which we come to know something. Did some Greek philosophers make a connection?
