Fenton:

You make a good point.  Sociologist Thomas Szasz wrote a book around 1970, in which he clearly states and develops the concept of a socially-approved reality that allows definition of miscreants and odd human specimens to be deemed insane.  They can then be removed from society and they can't point out the emperor has no clothes.  So the perception of reality is certainly disputed from one individual or group to another.

Prem Das:

I understand and applaud your attempt to minimize outside influences, but here you are on Google Groups.  You are certainly influenced by what you read here to some degree.  Perhaps not moved as you might be by the Bhagavad Gita, but...  certainly there is a potential outside influence on your thoughts here.

best,
rob

But rob, we in this group are all travellers on the same road. I have not, to date, met any the Greats, the ones who define and decide
what is and what is not, what should be and what should not. If I do thats when I put up the shutters.

No living being can exist in limbo without getting disoriented and confused. Touching base is the way to centre oneself. "Be in the world,
but be not part of the world"  - Jesus ?
