Crazy. It says a lot that they won't even look you in the face
No rush as I know you have a lot on your mind right now but it would
be very useful to know if this "appeal" was an internal Social
Services review or a full court hearing in the Family or some other
Court, and if the latter what Act or Regulation they quote to support
your exclusion from such a hearing given your rights under Article 6.1
of the Convention on Human Rights enshrines in the 1998 Act.
All the best.

Ok that makes sense (at least legally) as the rules do allow for such
internal reviews to be carried out without your direct involvement
but....and it is an important but, you have a right under Article 6.1
to an independent review of any decisions made by such an internal
review process.
Your solicitor will be able to advise you on how you could best do
this but I would suspect the best way might be to apply for permission
to seek Judicial Review in the High Court using Article 6.1 as the
main grounds for such a review and possibly articles 8 and/or 3 of the
Human Rights Act to argue against any unfair decison reached by the
Social Services internal review, along with any failure to correctly
apply the relevant DDA and DED duties Social Services have towards
you.
The key thing to remember with this process though is that any such
request for Judicial Review has to be lodged at the High Court within
3 months of your being notified of the decision you wish to have
reviewed.
Hope that helps and more than this that the actual decison they have
come to on the appeal will mean you do not need to challenge it, i.e.
that they have now come to their senses and start to treat your and
Molly fairly.
All the best
Peter.
