Dr Trotta, many thanks for your lecture last night in Green College.
I have a question. We say gravity bends space. Fair enough (sort
of...I'm only amateur, I'm a linguist by profession, me) and then we
talk about it being a force.
Why does gravity have to be a force, cannot it not just be the
curvature of space itself?
Put it crudely, a curved surface is a curved surface, it is not a
force. (to my understanding).
