How can we know how much RAM is being used by oracle in my server.
We have 8GB RAM on Windows 2003 Server.

HI,
 It can be checked through Task Manager, processes. In processes calculate the total memory used by oracle.exe

Hi

In task manager it shows around 1,921,760K for oracle.exe
ie it is using only 2GB of the RAM.
We have used 3GB switch also.
How can i make oracle use atleast 5GB of RAM in our server?

Hi,
If your OS is of 32 bit, it is the limitation of OS to use only 2.7GB of memory for oracle.exe processes after applying 3GB switch in boot.ini file. But it also have some disadvantages..check metalink for that

To find the memory used by oracle

execute the following queries

SQL> select sum(pga_used_mem) from v$process;

Add the result to result of the following query

SQL> select sum(value) from v$sga;
